MCP helpers

Hook up an MCP server in a couple of minutes.

MCP servers give your AI app new abilities: reading files, browsing, checking your issue tracker. Pick what you want to do, then copy the snippet for the app you use.

Read before pasting. These snippets are derived: we combined each app's documented config format with the command or URL from the server's own docs. Servers marked “reference” are learning examples, not production tools. Only add servers you trust, and give file or account access sparingly.

What do you want to do?

Where each app keeps its config

Claude Desktop

Edit claude_desktop_config.json under the mcpServers key. The documented file format covers local servers that run a command. Docs ↗

Cursor

.cursor/mcp.json in a project, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json for all projects. Use command/args for local servers or url for remote ones. Docs ↗

VS Code

.vscode/mcp.json under the servers key, with "type": "stdio" or "type": "http". Docs ↗

Claude Code

Add servers from your terminal with claude mcp add, using --transport http or --transport stdio. Docs ↗

Looking for more servers? The official MCP Registry ↗ lists many more. We only list here what we've checked ourselves.
